2018 Booking Information

The 2018 operating season is Monday, March 19 through Tuesday, November 20. We began booking the 2018 season in early October 2017. Most dates for small parties are currently booked. There are still some of the larger units that accommodate 8-13 hikers available primarily on weekdays. A date specific wait list has been started. Please complete the form and submit through the website. You do not need to fax or mail the form by US mail.

To check availability by phone, call 865-429-5704, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 5:00 pm ET. The office is closed most major holidays and may be closed lunch between 12 and 1:15 pm. Calling is often best to check availability especially for short notice cancellations (less than 30 days) as dates change frequently.

We are using a date specific wait list to fill cancellations on reservations more than 30 days from now. We stop using the wait list 30 days prior to the date. DO NOT include the following dates in your wait list request as the wait lists are full (closed): ALL dates. For dates less than 30 days from now it is usually best to call to check on availability.


2019 Booking Information

We will begin booking 2019 reservations (March 25 through November 26) on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 8:00 am EDT by phone and written request (fax, email, US mail or lottery form) through a lottery type system. DO NOT submit any 2019 requests prior to the form being posted here.

The written requests are printed, and held until October 1 when they will be shuffled, pulled at random and processed simultaneously with phone calls so no preference is given based on the date the request is received. You may call and/or send in a written request.

After October 1, 2018, the 2019 reservation forms will be answered in the order in which they are received, but not until all of the 2019 lottery requests have been processed.

The wait list for 2019 reservation cancellations will be started on December 5. 2018. Your 2019 lottery requests will not be placed in a wait list system.

Do not use the 2018 reservation wait list form for 2019 requests, as they will not be honored.

Payment Policy

Payments for reservations made by mail between the 1st and the 15th of the month will be due by the 1st of the following month; made between the 16th and the end of the month will be due by the 15th of the following month. Payments for reservations made less than 30 days before arrival date are due when the reservation is made. Payment is accepted by check, money order or credit card. We do not accept American Express.

Cancellation/Change Policy

Refund provided for cancellations up to 30 days prior to arrival, less a $15.00 processing fee. No refunds for cancellations with less than a 30 day notice. This includes meals and lodging for group lodges and individual cabins unless we are able to rebook your reservation space (s); in that event the amount received from another party for your reservation will be refunded, less a $15.00 processing fee. Any partial cancellation up to 30 days prior to arrival will result in a refund, less a $15.00 processing fee. Any change in reservation dates will result in a $15.00 processing fee.
There are NO EXCEPTIONS to our cancellation policy. We are not responsible for medical or family emergencies, weather or weather related trail conditions. Weather conditions or trail closures do not change the terms of our cancellation policy. We encourage you to research travel insurance services to best meet your needs if you must cancel or interrupt your trip due to unforeseen circumstances.

It is not permissible by any individual, company, church or organization to increase for profit the approved and published rates under any circumstances. Failure to comply with this notice will result in forfeiture of current reservation and future booking privileges.
